Warranty Period For services provided by any Repco Authorised Service workshop, the warranty is for a period of 12 months or 20,000kms (whichever comes first) from the date of your invoice. Claims If you need to make a claim under the warranty, please contact the Repco Authorised Service workshop that originally completed the work on your vehicle. The workshop where the work was originally performed will be responsible for responding to and accepting claims. If the original workshop can't help, they may authorise another workshop in the network to assist. Terms and Conditions What does the warranty cover? The Repco Authorised Service workshop will have the option of reperforming, replacing or repairing the good or service if it is or becomes defective during the warranty period, at no additional charge.
a.       Where the good or service is replaced, repaired or reperformed pursuant to this warranty, the replacement good or reperformed service will be subject to the terms of this warranty commencing on the date of the original invoice.
b.       If you request for a good to be repaired, your Repco Authorised Service workshop may choose to replace the good with a refurbished good of the same type. The warranty will cover any reasonable diagnosis or scanning fees conducted by the relevant Repco Authorised Service workshop, if such goods or services are later found to be defective. If the work done on your vehicle involves the supply of services from another service provider nominated by the Repco Authorised Service centre, the warranty offered by such service provider will replace this Nationwide Warranty to the extent of such goods .  The Repco Authorised Service centre will advise you of the terms and conditions of such warranty. The rights and obligations under this warranty remain solely with the original Repco Authorised Service workshop that provided you with the product or service. The benefit of this warranty is personal to you and is not transferable. What does the warranty not cover? This warranty does not cover: normal wear and tear and consumable goods such as globes, wipers, and fluids; loss of any data stored in your vehicle like music or phone numbers; and any incidental loss or damage caused by the defect, such as towing fees, loss of profits, loss of use and loss of goodwill or other loss or damage that cannot reasonably be considered to arise normally. This warranty is void if the defect is a consequence of misuse, neglect, abuse, incorrect operation or improper maintenance of the vehicle, accident, or other use that is not otherwise caused by a Repco Authorised Service workshop. How to submit a warranty claim Step 1: Have your original invoice ready. Step 2: Ensure that you make your claim within the warranty period. Step 3:  Please contact the Repco Authorised Service centre that carried out the relevant repairs or maintenance on your vehicle. Their contact details are on  your original invoice.  Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law The goods and services acquired from a Repco Authorised Service workshop comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled: to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done, you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

Before attending your inspection, here are a few important things to know—especially if your vehicle is unlicensed or modified. If Your Vehicle Is Unlicensed, You’ll Need a Moving Permit  If your vehicle is currently unlicensed in Western Australia, you must obtain a 'moving permit' before driving it to an inspection. 

A 'moving permit' allows you to legally drive your unlicensed vehicle to and from an inspection station or repairer. 

You can apply online through the WA Department of Transport before your booking. Make sure the permit covers the date and time of your inspection. 

Why this matters: 

Driving an unlicensed vehicle without a valid 'moving permit' can result in fines and penalties. It’s your responsibility as the vehicle owner to ensure the correct permit is in place.  2. If Your Vehicle Is Modified, Identify the Type of Modification  Vehicle modifications in WA are categorised as either simple or complex. It’s essential to understand which category your vehicle falls into before attending your AIS inspection. Kelmscott Service Centre only processes simple modification permits as part of our inspection service.  Simple Modifications  Simple modifications are typically minor changes that still require approval but do not significantly alter the vehicle’s structural integrity or safety systems. 

Examples may include:  Certain suspension alterations  Approved wheel and tyre changes  Minor engine upgrades  Important: Kelmscott Service Centre only processes simple modification permits as part of our inspection service.  If your vehicle requires a simple modification permit, you must:  Purchase the permit before your inspection, and  Provide the receipt number at the time of inspection.  Without the correct permit documentation, your inspection cannot proceed.  Complex Modifications  Complex modifications involve significant structural or engineering changes, such as:  Major engine conversions  Chassis alterations  Extensive body modifications  These modifications require additional engineering certification and approval processes through the WA Department of Transport. 

If your vehicle falls into this category, you will need to complete the appropriate approval steps before booking your AIS inspection.  3. Purchase Any Required Simple Modification Permit Before Your Inspection  If your vehicle requires a simple modification permit:  It must be purchased online prior to your appointment  You must provide your receipt number at the time of inspection  Arriving without the permit or receipt number may delay the process and require a rebooking. 

Tip: Organise your documentation the day before your appointment to avoid unnecessary delays.  4. Reasons for an inspection: You need to license your vehicle in Western Australia for the first time. You received a compliance notice (commonly called a yellow sticker, work order or defect notice). Your vehicle has been modified (GVM upgrade, long range fuel tank etc.), Note, we only do simple modifications (complex modifications requires engineering). Your vehicle requires annual examinations (taxis, ride share, and driving instructor vehicles). Licensing a written-off vehicle( WOVR must be provided at inspection). PLEASE NOTE Before Booking: Provide a moving permit (if unlicensed) Identify whether your vehicle has any simple or complex modifications Purchase any required simple modification permit.
